Bio
In 2024-25, Leslie Trujillo was officially named Los Angeles Harbor College's athletic director in charge of 11 sports.
After beginning her journey at Harbor in 2008, She became a full-time instructor in 2011 and currently serves as a department chair for the Kinesiology/Athletics area. From 2021-2023, she served as an assistant AD and in 2023-2024 she was acting athletic director.
Leslie was a successful previous director of the CHAMPS program at LAHC to help student-athletes succeed in academics and athletics. The CHAMPS program received a Commendation Award in 2023 for accreditation. She has also been voted Star Instructor of the year and Transfer Advocate by the students.
Prior to taking on administrative roles, Leslie was an athletic performance and mindset coach, developing champions in all areas of their life. She has trained Heisman Trophy winners, All-Americans, and National Championship teams at Loyola Marymount, Notre Dame, USC, and at The Yard Performance Center.
Trujillo worked with hundreds of high school basketball and volleyball athletes at various schools in the South Bay. Leslie, aka “Coach C” has been a part of several CIF Championships and two state championship teams.
Leslie is the former host of The Developing Athlete Podcast and the co-author of the book, DEAR HER: Letters to teenage girls and young ladies on lessons learned through education, athletics, and life. It was a best-selling book on Amazon.
She earned a bachelor's in exercise science from the University of New Mexico, a master's in education from LMU, a master's in kinesiology-sports management from Long Beach State, and her certificate in sport psychology from San Diego University for Integrative Studies.
She played NCAA Division I tennis at UNM. Leslie is a "Master Trainer" with ZHealth Performance, specializing in movement, the nervous system, and vision training. She was awarded the Todd Durkin Fitness Professional of the Year Award in 2019.
Leslie lives in the South Bay area of southern California. She is married to Jake Trujillo and they have two children, Mateo and Anhelica, and have hosted three exchange students: Alex, Pablo, and Teddy.
