Bio
Shawnae Campbell is in her fifth official season in charge of the LA Harbor softball program as head coach.
Campbell played at Harbor herself in 2010-2011 and was inducted into the Harbor Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. She was a 2-time, All-South Coast Conference pitcher for the Seahawks and set the program's strikeouts record in her career.
She went on to earn a scholarship, continuing her education and playing career at NCAA Division II Lane College in Tennessee where she shined in 2014-2015. Campbell went on to set Lane's strikeouts record and ultimately was inducted into the Lane Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
She began coaching as an assistant coach at Lane in 2016, then returned to California to coach at Brentwood School as head coach from 2016-2018. In 2018-19, Campbell served as an assistant coach at Compton College.
She took over at Harbor College and navigated the program through the pandemic including the canceled 2021 season and then brought back the team in a return to play again with all the other SCC colleges in 2022.
Among her student-athletes were All-SCC First Team selections in pitcher Yvette Ramirez (2025) and centerfielder Marina Hinojosa (2024) as well as Second Team choices in shortstop Da'Jhay Norton (2022), catcher Asia Bryant (2023), catcher Ashley Parra (2024) and third baseman Evelyn Iniguez (2025).
Campbell moved both '25 Seahawks graduates Ramirez (Clarke, Iowa) and Iniguez (Doane, Nebraska) to NAIA universities.
Campbell, who attended Lawndale High, completed an A.A. degree at Harbor, then earned a bachelor's in physical education at Lane and her master's in kinesiology in Los Angeles.
